Either there is no way for me to do so, or I cannot find it and none of Microsoft's "documentation" recognizes that as a possibility Microsoft Help is telling me to Open in Word. If I go back to the SharePoint window and try to right-click the file name there is a choice for "Open >" but the only option the arrow expands to is "Open in Word Online". The File menu has no Open command of any type, in Word or otherwise. I get a window with a Word-like menu bar, but no document. To edit this document, please open it in Microsoft Word." ThereĪre two buttons, one for Edit in Word and one for Open in Reading View. When I click on it, it opens in Word Online.īut I cannot edit the document, if I try to do so I get a message "Sorry, Word Online can't open this document for editing because it has document protection enabled for one or more sections.
